Shakib Al Hasan is truly the pride of Bangladesh cricket. The international all-rounder is statistically the most successful player in the nation's history! The proof of this is his number one ranking amongst ODI all-rounders, from January 2009 to April 2011 and again from March 2012, as accredited by the ICC. In December 2011, his spell of success got another prestigious recognition and he became the world's top-ranked Test all-rounder. He also became the youngest Bangladesh captain at the age of 22 and 5th youngest captain overall. He captained in 9 tests, 49 ODI and 4 T20 matches. The dynamic all-rounder is currently the only player to hold onto the No.1 spot in ODI and T20 and the No.2 spot in Test Cricket as per ICC. In 2009, he was named Wisden Cricketer’s World Test Player of the Year. Shakib won the hearts of Indian cricket fans ever since he joined the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. He was bought back by the franchise in the 2014 Player Auction. He played a very crucial part in KKR’s IPL victories in 2012 and 2014. In 2015, Shakib raised the bar for Bangladesh players considerably by topping the All-Rounder's charts in all three formats -World's Best Test, ODI & T20I. He further helped Bangladesh to their most successful year in cricket. Following their success in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup he also helped the team to a white wash of Pakistan and the series win against India and South Africa. On 15 July, he took his 200th wicket of his ODI career by dismissing Hashim Amla in the final ODI of the series. He also became the 8th and youngest ODI cricketer to take 200 wickets and score 4000 runs. On 22nd October, while playing against England, Shakib earned another feather for himself. He became the 1st Bangladeshi cricketer to get 150 Test wickets.
