Manoj Tiwary is popular among cricket fans as the right-handed batsman who excelled during IPL, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils. The 29 year old, who hails from Howrah, represents Bengal in domestic cricket. His stroke play and high run scoring in Domestic games catapulted him to a favourite amongst both cricket lovers and selectors. He led the Rest of India squad in the 2015 Irani Trophy game against Ranji Trophy Champions Karnataka. He was picked up for the Indian team for the tour of Bangladesh in 2007 but could not make his debut due to an injury. He finally made his debut for India in Australia in 2008. The defining moment in his career came when he was included in the Indian squad for ODI series against West Indies in 2011 at Home. During the 5th match of this series, played at Chennai, he got the chance to exhibit his potential and thus became Man of the Match. Despite his physical injury, he scored his maiden ODI century, at a moment when India desperately needed a terrific innings. Subsequently, he made his comeback as an all-rounder. Tiwary bowls occasional leg breaks also. His IPL journey started with Delhi Daredevils and was inducted into Kolkata Knight Riders, where he performed well, even helping KKR win the title in their ultimate match in 2012. Manoj started 2016’s Ranji campaign with a bang and scored century in both innings in a vital time against the mighty Uttar Pradesh.
